Water clean
A steady low tone for a speaker that just got wet.
Phone got wet? Speaker Cleaner pushes the water out with sound, then measures your speaker so you can see the change.
How it works
Leave the phone flat on a table, screen up, with the volume up. The whole clean takes half a minute.
A short tone checks how loud your speaker plays right now.
A low 165 Hz tone shakes the water out through the grille, the same method Apple Watch uses in Water Lock.
The tone plays again, and you see before and after side by side.
See the change
Measured on a wet iPhone during testing. Your result depends on your phone and how wet it is. If nothing changes, Speaker Cleaner says so.
Three ways to clean
A steady low tone for a speaker that just got wet.
A longer sweep for stubborn water.
Hard bass pulses and vibration that try to shake loose grains out.
What it doesn't do
Speaker Cleaner removes liquid water. It can't remove stuck dirt or dust, and it doesn't repair a damaged speaker.
If the measurement shows no change, the speaker was probably not wet.
